My love for baking started 10 years ago. I went to a cake class just for fun and I got hooked. I took as many classes as possible to learn everything about cakes, buttercream, and fondant. After a few months Karen’s Buttery was born. I specialize in fondant cakes for a few years and people started asking for cookies so again I wanted to learn everything about royal icing and cookie dough and after a lot of practice and classes I started offering decorated cookies.
My background in graphic design has been a great complement to my cake and cookie designs. I love inspiring others to create and work with new materials and textures.
For me it’s an everyday challenge with my condition, Essential Tremor, which makes me to find and create everyday techniques to overcome it.
